Boiler Observation
Boiler cameras make the combustion chamber of steam generators visible around the clock. The live image is transmitted directly to the control room – for safe operation, optimised combustion and early detection of malfunctions.

What boiler monitoring delivers
- Monitor ignition: Checking the flame during boiler start-up for a safe start.
- Assess the flame pattern: Position, shape and stability of the burner flames during operation.
- Check the burnout grate: Observation of the coal embers and burnout on the grate.
- Detect slagging and deposits: Spot changes on walls and heating surfaces at an early stage.
- Record temperature distribution: optionally by thermography with infrared cameras.
System design
The boiler camera sits in a cooled furnace probe, which is mounted either with an automatic transfer device or as a fix mounting. With a transfer device, the probe automatically retracts from the hot zone in the event of an alarm – for example if cooling or compressed air fails. A control and supply cabinet monitors the cooling media and purge air and reports malfunctions to the control room via potential-free contacts.
- Video, network or infrared cameras
- Lenses with axial or radial view up to 110° diagonal field of view
- Water, gas or air cooling of the probe
- Support from planning and commissioning through to maintenance
